In July 2016, ICCA was pleased to be invited by the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) to provide training for a second consecutive year. This round of training was led by Stephen Murch who was accompanied by Dame Linda Dobbs DBE, Tom Kark QC, Paul Garlick QC, Shaun Smith QC and his Lordship the Hon. Justice Iain Morley QC.
The programme consisted of both a Standard Advocacy Course, an Advanced Advocacy Course and a Teacher Training Course being run at the same time. The Advanced Course materials were prepared by the Ghanaian Bar with the support of our lead trainer. The courses also covered issues of Ethics raised by the Lady Chief Justice of Ghana, Justice Georgina Wood.
Standards amongst participants were high with marked improvements being made on the delayed replays; the advocates showed a determination to improve performances.
The ICCA hopes to offer continued support to the GBA in developing future rounds of training. Follow this link to download the full report.
